For iPhone/iPad/iPod listeners – Using your phone or device, go to the  iTunes store and search for “the medic’s mic”.  This will direct you to download the free Podcasts App (produced by Apple). Then subscribe to the show from within the app by clicking the "subscribe" button.  Each time we produce a new episode, it will automatically be available on your iDevice.

Episode 8 reviews the management of cancer pain in adults, and features Dr Sarah McLean, Consultant in Community Palliative Care Services at St Francis Hospice Dublin, and Consultant in Palliative Care at Beaumont Hospital. Sarah was a member of the guideline development group for the 2015 National Clinical Guideline on the Pharmacological Management of Cancer Pain in Adults.

In this episode, Sarah provides a comprehensive overview of management of cancer pain in adults, including how to assess pain, commence strong opioids and manage side effects.
